what do I need: customer pays online, but not to my business?...

Hi,

I do not know what it is exactly that I need and what it is called (sorry!), however, I hope you would be able to advise me what it is and if there is something you could recommend to me.

Let’s say (to make it easy) I have a website on which I offer watches - I'm an agent of Swiss watches, watches from France, etc. And on my website the customer chooses a watch and pays for it – however, not to myself, but to the shop in Switzerland, France, etc. On my website there is an option to click to ‘Pay Now’ and my customer when clicks on it, goes to a safe site (what is this?), on which he/she gives details of credit/debit card and pays store A. Another customer buys a watch B, and again clicks on my website 'Pay Now' and is directed to a safe website (as above – what it this?), on which gives card details and pays store B. Payment is not being taken by me – it goes straight to store in Switzerland or to store in France, etc. But the customer using my website is sure the card he/she’s using to pay online, will be safe and can trust transactions arranged by me.

Is it clear what I mean?... So what do I need?... And who can give it to me? :)

Thanks,

Kasia

Your an affiliate - you direct traffic to a merchant website which is where the transaction happens. When they click through the link passes a unique affiliate id which can identify you as a refer, if a trans happens that id is used to route commission back to you.

What do you need? To join a affiliate network with watch merchants on it or find watch merchants which have in-house affiliate program's.

OK, I wasn't clear then :) The business is just an example - to explain what I mean!
I need 'safe website' - ? online payment gateway ? plug-in ?whatever it's called - for my customers to pay by card online. So like in every online shop! The only different is that the money won't go to the same bank account every time - like they do in every online shop scenario. The would go to one shop on one occasion, and second time - to another shop.

Is it more clear now?... I'm sorry - I know it does exist, I just don't know where to look for that.

Why isn't it going into your bank account? You are selling the product so you get the money and then pay the supplier.

If you do want to pay into a range of different bank accounts you will need a bespoke payment portal. And it won't be cheap.

What you need is a multi-vendor website.

We've built this one before: www.bucksell.com

And we can build one for you. Feel free to get in touch.

    I'm not sure...
The main thing is the legislation and customer protection:
The Consumer Credit Act 1974, Section 75
However, 'Completing a credit card transaction through a third party payment service means that the credit card provider and the seller are no longer in a direct relationship so are not equally liable. This happens with payment services such as Paypal, as well as Amazon Marketplace, Worldpay and Google Checkout.'
Therefore, I would like my customers to have an option - to pay by card online, but on the safe website, so they can be protected.
And yes - I don't want and I can't have all the money coming to my business account: the most important thing is that I would need to transfer money abroad on behalf of every customer, take on me consequences of constant changes of currency rates, and also pay high fee for every international transaction.
Can you see my point of view now?...

    Crystal clear

You want to be an affiliate where they click on your site then bounce to the vendor to complete the sale

You want to be an affiliate for multiple companies no problem there

There are sites where you can register and apply and then get code that identifies you and pays you

If you want GOOD rates, ring companies that DO NOT have affiliate schemes and negotiate your own deal, affiliate schemes are low percentages, 1 to 3 % on many things being common

If you find a watch manufacturer (And there are loads in Switzerland) who is not on a scheme, approach them with an offer to be their first affiliate YOU set the number and open a negotiation, creating an affiliate scheme to track sales is not too complex either.

Ring them up, pitch them the merits, get them to set you up at 15% and move on.. fill your site with the standard stuff from Commission junction or whatever its called, but bin them if you can negotiate direct.

    BIG DISCLAIMER

IT IS 1245AM I SKIPPED YOUR LAST POST AND YOU SEEM TO BE SAYING SOMETHING DIFFERENT..

I AM ADDICTED TO THIS FORUM!

    :)
This is very very interesting, Thank you so much, Beasty, however, I'm asking for IT solution for my website. I think this is the right forum to ask about it: 'E-commerce, shopping cart and payment processor discussion, advice and assistance' as per description.
    Thank you for your time!
