What are the biggest problems with SEO companies?

My recent experience with our SEO company has been good (one before was dire) we have been with them for 5 years now and have consistently ranked for all our major keywords 1-3 in Google. They used to do a lot of work with bloggers which brought in traffic as well as links but stopped due to changes with Google, in fact very few links are used now and much more effort goes into onsite optimisation, content and visual marketing.

I would be wary of any company who promises quick results though. This for us has been a very long term project.

Interesting.

I've had a look at your site and not sure what you are ranking for as there is very little indexable content. Or is this a different site to the one in your profile?

Wow, so I had no idea this thread would continue so long. I took the initial feedback, we rebranded, invested lots of money in our developers and were back with a product for you all to try.

So thanks for the initial feedback.

Providing you dont all argue then please take a look and play with the BETA.

Edit: I've just signed up. Your whole signin process is pants. It's complicated and unnecessary.

When you do finally login you are presented with a blank dashboard. I clicked on one of the links and it says: 'We're analysing your site, check back later.' All of which makes the whole thing really annoying.

It's also not fully responsive. Some columns are hidden.

The domain report is so inaccurate. The problem with the whole thing is you are focusing on a limited range of keywords which means you are missing all the juicy long tail stuff that brings in the money.

I'm now told: 'Google Account not connected'. What has that got to do with anything? There are then a whole load of other 'issues' that are meaningless without context.

Website reviews are only for full members so can't add much more - but the UI/UX is very poor and the reports not very good at all.

Thanks for the input, we understand that the project needs plenty more work. However the core functionality of the project working is bringing us some joy.

Were trying not to focus keywords, although we do ask for them at the start to understand where a customer believes they want to rank.

The software will identify key areas which require improvement, more importantly it will continue to learn by comparing information between your own website and your competitors.

The UI / UX / Design is all coming next, which will bring more light, however you sound pretty switched on with this whole area, we are however aiming to work with small SMEs, individual business owners, but always happy to take your honest more experienced feedback!

Join UKBF as a full member and get the app reviewed.

I looked at the app not as a someone experienced with SEO but as a someone who needs help. Many of them wouldn't even get past the login process as it's just too complicated. You are asking questions that a novice wouldn't be able to answer.

Closing this thread now. All requests for reviews and feedback are only permitted for full members
