Hi Everyone,

I have recently started my creative agency and I was just wondering what the best ways of marketing the business were. I have been told social media marketing is an effective approach but how would I go about it?

Also, I have submitted my website to Google however when I type the name of my site into google, it doesn't appear for at least 3 pages. How can i improve this?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

What exactly do you do who are your target market? I ask because your signature says

Creative agency
Digital Advertising
Web design.

Now the web design bit I get, but the other two are a little vague for me :)

So what services do you provide and who are your target clients? That will give the information needed to make suggestions on how to get to them.

Welcome to UKBF by the way.

As you are offering digital advertising as a service why not do just that.

Your services are not unique. There are thousands of people just like you. So cheap marketing isn't going to work. How much of your budget have you allocated to marketing? £100/month would be a good start, £500/month would be better.

Lol from some of the comments here...

One new designer approached a very well known blog and told him how bad his design was and then offered to improve it for free. The only thing it cost the designer was time, but when you're starting that's a good cost to take.

The blogger then told his audience what the designer did for him, immediately giving the designer a potential customers.

Also, the designer added this work to their portfolio.

Find ways to help people for free and be useful to them.

Without wanting to sound rude but I cannot believe that you asked the question on a public forum as your website states, amongst other things:
"So you have your website. Great! So how do you get people to view it? Our marketing specialists use strategic planning to build an advertising campaign which ensures that your website will not only get in front of viewers, but in front of your specific target audience. We use proven methods like Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to drive in traffic to your website and increase the number of potential customer visits."

The best way to get your site indexed is to create a blog. Google loves blogs, especially wordpress blogs. Start writing 1 blog post every day and include 2 -3 links to internal pages of your site. Make sure these posts are high quality and useful and you will see results very quickly. If your niche is competitive you have to work hard to get good traffic. First you need to do on-page and off-page SEO. On-page SEO means to optmize your website strucutre, content, meta data,.. Make sure your pages have enough content with decent quality, make your url-s are SE friendly, make title tags and meta descriptions of each page unique, add breadcrumbs, remove duplicate pages and add canonical tag to each page. Off-page SEO means to get some links from local citation sites like Google + Local, Yellow Pages, Yelp, Top Pages. These sites will give you a free link as long as your company is legitimate. You have to confrim your address on Google + Local by postcard but that will give your brand more value in the eyes of Google. When your submission on citation sites has been approved, ask some of your customers to write reviews. Every person in the world can do these simple things, even if you have no idea what SEO means.

Another way to get customers fast is to find the most popular keywrods in your niche, using Google Keyword Planner. Then make a search on Google and find which sites are on top of the SERP's for those keywords. Contact the owners and try to include your company details on these pages. Some people will do it for free and some will require payment ,but this will help you for both - direct sales and SEO.

Once again, your post is full of incorrect statements. Your blog strategy is dated and ill advised. Your onsite suggestions miss the most important aspects. Your off site is laughable and the keyword planner is an adwords tools and usually misses the moneymaking keywords.

As Mutt Cutts (Google spam team leader) stated many times - blog is important part of building a brand online. What exactly is "dead" in my blog strategy? To write useful posts on regular basis? To link to internal pages? If my on-site suggestions miss the most important aspects, why not share them with us? I know that Keyword Planner is part of Adwords ,but is also part of Google. If you are planning to get traffic from Google there is no better tool to research keywords. I tried Moz,SEO book and many other similar free and paid tools and no one works better than Keyword Planner. I can't see how you are trying to help to the user in this thread.

It just goes to show, you can't believe everything you read on the web..... :-(

I think this ties in with the thread where someone is offering to vet SEO agencies and consultants. Hm.

That would be me, and I don't see anything wrong with doing this. I know a lot of business owners, and they would happily pay £200 to make sure they don't go with someone who is going to destroy their company.

Is your description of an off-page strategy complete in your eyes? It is sadly lacking
