@Jason - you really shouldn’t be getting a new site designed until you have fully developed a marketing plan. This will drive the structure and content of the site. Then once all the content is in place you can think about the design.

the website was failing me on many fronts. it's not optimised and was not mobile responsive. Looking and fixing the website is part of the marketing plan.
I'm also creating several landing pages for my planned email marketing campaigns.
I need to segment my leads and nurture or leverage them.

Once I've done all the housework the marketing plan will come into play

You really should be paying an expert for SEO services and ask to see results before engaging anyone. Which CMS are you using for your new site?
I know I should be paying lots of people for lots of things, at the moment I'm pretty much a one-man band.
Once I can afford it I will hopefully be employing someone to do my SEO.
It will be WordPress and Elementor

I am up there on google but I believe I was failing a lot on google experience

Optimisation and responsiveness doesn’t need a redesign. You need a marketing campaign first then the content created. We discussed this. You do not need a new site.

Email campaigns are notoriously ineffective. But if the your primary marketing tool you don’t need a new site.

I fear you are going about this all the wrong way.

I've invested quite a lot of money in an exhibition in a few months, I'm preparing everything for that.

The site is coming and it will be amazing. It was all over the place and very messy. I was losing customers because of it.
The new one will be slick and delicious.
I'm actually doing a lot behind the scenes, I have content, and quite a few blog pieces to put on too.
My Chat GPT friend has made me a marketing plan

    Nooooo!

Don’t use chat gpt for a marketing plan! The plan should be based on solid customer research and define the exactly (and tested) methods by which you plan to connect with and convert you targets. It also need to be flexible enough to pivot should the plan not be as successful as you hoped. The plan should also detail your marketing spend.

Only after this do you need to think about the site design.

And remember, what you think is slick and delicious may not be what the client thinks. Build the site for your clients not you. If they want fluffy pink clouds then that’s what you need to build. Your market research will tell you how to build the site.

I would double check the servers before moving them. I've had some horror stories in the past. It was with this company called uk2. Their server was atrociously slow and they kept denying it was an issue from their end despite all the experts saying so an me going round in circles for 6 months. Wrecked my SERP as it was a time of the core metrics update. And cost me thousands to fix because of their denial.

@Jason couple of points from the SEO prospecitve:
    1. Overall very good site, 89% health according to semrush.
    2. According to gemetrix your site has good UI performance
    3. I wanted to make ice cream at home!

And couple of issues to deal with:
    1. I have no idea why, but semrush complains about address tag. It sees that on pages: https://www.rollmeup.co.uk/, https://www.rollmeup.co.uk/7-of-the-best-ice-cream-quotes/, https://www.rollmeup.co.uk/about/ , etc
    2. Add meta tags to the following pages
    https://www.rollmeup.co.uk/category/case-studies/, https://www.rollmeup.co.uk/category/corporate-events/, https://www.rollmeup.co.uk/category/corporate-party/, https://www.rollmeup.co.uk/category/rolled-ice-cream-flavours/, https://www.rollmeup.co.uk/category/sustainable-and-green/ https://www.rollmeup.co.uk/category/uncategorized/

Thanks @fisicx for the recommendation. Apologies for the late response, I've been too busy to be on UKBF of late!

It sound like you're already underway with a new website, but, as has been mentioned previously, this isn't about the current site or redesigning it ASAP. It's about understanding your target market and coming up with a strategy to attract and convert them.

The first stage of this is research, what services do you want to sell and who will by them. This leads to customer, competitor/market and keyword research to build a marketing plan.

This becomes the driver of the website; e.g. where and what do they look for, what pages are developed to rank for organic searches/showcase your services/solutions. If you are running PPC it forms the keyword/landing page plan etc.

At this stage you think about brand and design; e.g. is it high end, does it need great visuals, video etc. This is something we do for our long term partners, but it's way beyond the scope of forum posts.

    Hey @Jason

I agree, the concept of your business is great. I know the kids are loving roll ups at the moment from certain content creators on TikTok. There's definitely a huge market for your business. I didn't see TikTok on your list of social icons, so I'd say get yourself on TikTok.

I love the branding, but can we remove the shadowing from the text? It doesn't look great. I think the floating image as the header should be replaced. Perhaps moved that to just before your footer and add some info or call to action there. Seems like you have a decent gallery of images, flavours, etc so I would take advantage of that.

I'd also like to see a Choice your flavour type of section on the homepage with a nice gallery, making it more interactive for your audience. And more details about your wonderful parties/events!
