Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I hope I'm posting in the correct topic area.
Basically I have got a website which has been built by a developer and it is very good but he is very lazy now that I've paid him the money. I've decided to cut my losses and would like to hire a web developer to finish off the website and maintain what I've already got on a monthly basis.

Also I'm looking to integrate some bespoke software into my website so am looking for a company to make me a bespoke software package. The software package will not be terribly difficult to someone who knows what they're doing. Can anyone recommend anyone?

Before even beginning a dialogue with a web developer on here, there are some questions that need asking publicly to save you from wasting your time speaking to developers that don't specialise in what you're seeking...

Asking for messages via PM doesn't do anything for the benefit of this thread.
  • What language is the website wrote in?
  • What CMS/platform/framework is it built on?
  • Why is the website "very good", presumably there was a spec and it has not all been delivered?
  • What made the previous developer very lazy?
  • What software do you refer to? Web based or standalone application? What does it do and how does it need to integrate into your website?
  • How much have you paid so far? How much of your allocated budget for the project is left?
Knowing the answers to these will narrow down the interested web developers significantly to the ones that are best suited for your requirements.

I've been advised I need to speak to a Word Press specialist.
It is graphically very good. Bearing in mind, this is not my specialist field. I've paid £1000 so far. I'm a one man band so need to get the best possible price out there
Wordpress tweaks are simple - you can probably do most of them yourself if you tell us what you want doing.
Saying it is graphically very good means nothing - it's quite possible what you think looks good everybody else hates and it doesn't convert.
Need more data!
