Hi All,
I am looking to work out the rough costs of electricity and water. for a potential premises. The owner does not know the costs so i am trying to work them out.

The water bill will purely be based on 1 toilet and that is it. Does anyone have a rough guide to how much that will cost a month?

The electricity will be 16 tube lights and electricity to power 2 computers and fax and printer. Again what roughly do you think would be the electricity costs?

Both water and electricty will be based on meter rates.

Cheers

Hi Jon,

I don't know if prices would be different due to different providers e.t.c , but anyway in my shop , I had 1 toilet and a little sink , and I paid just over £30 a quarter.

For my electricity , I had only 1 computer and I had spotlights and 2 convector heaters - which I hardly used because my shop being small got hot quickly but my bill averaged £45 a quarter , but went up to £65 for the one quarter during winter.

Hope this helps.

best wishes

For Elec , Should be minimal , I would say 2-3,000 kWh per Year max , Depending on your tariff and payment method between 150-200 per year.Surely 1 Wc is not metered?

Hi Jon123,

I think Utility Consultant's got it right. You shouldn't be spending too much on electricity - take a look at the profile class that you're on (Find the details of your MPAN number - top line - first two numbers will tell you). I reckon you'll be on an 02, or 03 max (depending on what the premises will be doing) - so therefore will be small usage.

Combat added costs - pay by direct debit too!

Remember, if you're looking to move into a potential premises - you will be paying deemed rates (up to double more). So shop around and select your supplier of choice upon moving in. You are not tied to a contract - no matter what they say!!

When I moved into my new premises - I shopped around and used E4B in the end - they have a busines movers page which will tell you all you need to know about moving in (and moving out of your old premises, if this relevant!)

Good luck Jon123!

Hi Jon, i can help you out with electricity but not water. Like mentioned before it will be 02-03 type meter and the costs would be very small indeed,i cannot see it being more than £200 per annum.
We offer a business contract on a 28 day notice policy so not lenghty tie ins.
If you would like any help then PM with your e-mail address.

Mark

By the way we can help you out with Line rental, phone and Broadband services too all on one bill.
