W3 Total Cache Plugin With Wordpress

Hi, i'm working on a new site, and when adding images i realised maybe its a little on the slow side so i have a few questions. And remembered this place exists.

I recently used the google page speed insight https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ to test the new site im working on , and got a score of 17 for desktop. I'm not sure how reliable a tool this is ? It seems like stipulations that google likes to see so i guess it is.

I installed w3 total cache

I installed it, then i checked page speed tool and my rating was 90 for desktop, the only thing wrong it was saying was server speed. So i was happy.

Then, a red alert came on the admin of w3 total cache saying the cdn not authorised blah blah and i checked the page speed tool again and the rating had gone back down.

I opened a max cdn account and got the key and still have the issue,

The google tool is giving me a rating of 90 but, its messed up the structure of the page.

What's causing that?

I was playing with it at around two am and was getting tired and frustrated, trying to open the max cdn account was like pulling teeth.

Any ideas of what i can try ?

Cheers

Nick.

Can you add me on your skype?

So i can look on your dashboard.

Disabling the CDN made the site work. I just tested the page speed and it says

So, that makes me confused why the plugin stopped working yesterday and gave me an error that sort of suggested installing the cdn key would fix it.

So, hopefully this stays working :D

Thank you for helping.

Should i turn minify options back on? Will this fix the render blocking?

Ok, now i am confused.

I turned minify back on, and now page speed says

So, when the minify settings were off, the tool wasn't suggesting i needed to minify, but when i turn the settings on, it's suddenly saying needs to be minified? and still saying the render blocking is a problem. ?

Or don't bother. minify and cache are mostly a waste of time.

Cache in particular achieves nothing useful. If you have a well built site you don't need to cache anything. And all minify does is make more work for you
