    Thanks Stuart but we're happy with our providers and we're not chasing margins.

    Basic Interconnect rates are set at around 6p by Ofcom so wholesale rates not much different from those means one of two things:

    1. An illegal source using racks of PCs stuffed with SIM card. These things generally give low quality, unstable connections (often with no CLI). Periodically they are nuked by the mobile operators and suddenly all your connectivity disappears. Often used for international traffic.

    2. Tricks of the trade nonsense involving minimum connection charge per call and/or minimum duration charges.

    Basically, in telephony if it's too cheap there's a damn good reason - it's a mature, commodity market where all the wrinkles are well known.

    Fyi. We only connect to high quality, Tier 1 providers because we know they will be there the day after tomorrow, they will fix problems quickly and they will provide quality calls that we can rely on.
