Voip to mobile help needed

I've signed up for Voipfone and got the mobile app Zoiper but I wondered if there was a better android app than Zoiper.

I really need it to work in the background and over 2G/3G.

Zoiper does works in the background but they don't recommend it as it kills the battery, although I've not left it running long enough to tell whether this is a major problem or not.

I used to use Sipgate and their app which worked well but I can't seem to find it on the play store.

Which app would you recommend for the best background running?

I use Zoiper on my HTC One Silver and haven't noticed a difference in battery life, it's still as awful as it was before I started using it

TL;DR: zoiper supposedly uses a lot less battery.

Thanks. I downloaded Acrobits and I have to say, it works really well. Haven't noticed a massive drop in battery performance so I'm very happy with the outcome. Well worth the £4.06 lol

Hi HobbyMounts, good thread, I am interested in an android sip app as well after trying Zoiper and also finding it rather lacking. Have to check out Acrobits myself.

Another good one I have had success with is Bria from Counterpath.

+1 for Acrobits... used it on Android and now on iPhone with no problems and it always alerts me to a call without fail.

Had some problems with incoming calls getting disconnected after 20-30secs. Acrobits support was fantastic though and had an email with some setting changes.

Still testing at the moment...
