    Voipfone, cjd on here....

    https://www.voipfone.co.uk/

I've been with them almost 20 years, first class stuff, don't tell Colin I said that it'll only go to his head! :)

I've used voipfone before. But importantly, I need to be able to see what number the caller has dialled, and I'm not sure of any software clients that do that.

This is a pretty standard feature these days, unless the caller withholds their number (for example dials 141 before making the call)

I would be surprised if VOIPfone don't offer that.

I now use Voicehost and they do offer that - I name each number and the name is shown when the call
    comes in.

Isn't that inbound CLI presentation though? As in, you can see the caller's number, not the number they called.

I have a number of different businesses, so I need to see the number they dialled so I can answer the phone correctly.

The feature I'd like, this is where I went wrong on my earlier post is........

The ability to see the number called and the callers number, this would bring some very interesting options for me, as far as I'm aware it can't be done.

Anyone correct me, or make a suggestion, I'd be a happy bunny!

    TTNC do that

"Our Call Whisper service plays a short voice message to you (the receiver of the call) before connecting the caller with you. This will help you quickly identify whether you're receiving a business or personal call so you can answer with the appropriate company greeting."

Caller ID shows the callers number.

Of just buy a multi line voip phone and you can have a many lines as you need. Even a fairly basic Yealink gives 12 lines.

In theory it might be possible, as CLI comprises two fields: a name and a number. The service provider could rewrite the name field to show the number called, or even a name associated with that called number.

Name fields do get inserted, eg to a location or 'INTERNATIONAL' when there is no information in the CNAM databases your provider is using.

But I don't know of anyone that actually does that.

Maybe @cjd will come along here and enlighten us.

.... with the incoming number or the name of the person who called (if in my directory!).

Yes, Line Presentation is the feature you need. This video looks a bit dated now but the content is correct. Call us if you need more info 020 7043 5555

I need a VOIP service and client where I can have multiple numbers and see which number a caller is ringing on.

I could do it with multiple clients but I prefer to have a single application. Does anyone have any recommendations?
We could help you with this as we can answer your clients as your receptionist and then transfer them to you. But if there is a pacific client list you would only like to receive messages from to call back, we can also set up a list on our systems that can do this by prioritising your list of VIP clients.

We could set up each client with a dedicated number and answer them directly by Business name and business contact name or clients name. Because we know their calling, it is more of a personal touch.

We could transfer the call over to you or send you a message about the client to you or a dedicated member of your staff on the contact list, giving your client's the VIP treatment and professional image over the telephone that your business requires.

Sorry, my customers are retail customers and this solution is not suitable. I don't want them to have to go through another layer to reach me.

We do have our own PA service , that you switch on and off as you need it. It's quite popular with people that just need occasional cover - staff meetings, picking up kids etc. Just pay per call.

I expect the P has found a solution in the 2.5 years since the question was asked. Thread closed for future replies.
