Voip or Vonage

Hi guys

I recently posted a thread about my needs for a business telephone line, and from many helpful responses I have come down to 2 possibilities; Voip or Vonage.

I have some questions for users or sales staff, hopefully you can help me;

1. is the telephone number a local number (in my case 0191), 0800, 0845 or other?
2. Can I use it at 2 different locations (my house, and my girlfriends?)
3. What costs are involved?
4. I understand it's an internet service - does the call go through to a normal handset, or is it a headset through my pc?

Anyone who can answer these questions, it would be appreciated.

PLEASE - if your a sales person don't call me - that will lead to instant refusal. If you have the product to sell - inbox me your details and I'll call you if I want to.

All the questions above are dependant on who you go with.

You can have a Local Rate Number or Non-Geographical

You will need a Voip Phone which they also sell.

You can take the phone anywhere and plug into a router.

VoIP and Vonage are the same thing - Vonage is the company/product name, VoIP is the technology used. They are a US company with marketing and some ops people in the UK. Their prices and services are on their web site.

Go with Voipfone - Vonage suck, and with vonage you may not get your number back should you want to change providers in the future.
