Visual Web Ripper is Dead Now What? I need a Web Scrapper

Hi Guys

For over 8 years I used a great web scraper called Visual Web Ripper, for getting the latest product info from my suppliers websites. But this software has been discontinued and doesn't work anymore. Anyone got a good Alternative for webscraper?

There are a lot of PC based products but the monthly adds up.

Software wise you have Agenty, Octoparse 8 & ParseHub

They often do the trick for small scraping projects.

Last three months we did 3 large scraping projects, one scraped a business listing directory for a web design company to cold call, a Big Commerce e-commerce site with over 1200+ SKUs and another project that I can't go into detail about due to NDA's but the source site was fully dynamic so needed some complex scraping using virtual Chrome instances to mimic clients to log in and then interact with the site to obtain the data.

These are usually multipart systems so you have a server that runs the scrape, then a front end to process it and allow filtering or exports and often a Wordpress style plugin to import the data into the shop.

It's harder now to scrape properly with dynamic sites but not impossible.

I build plugins for a Swiss insurance company and just pay someone to scrape the data. Works out a lot cheaper than building your own.
