Vistaprint

I'm being plagued by offers from Vista Print.
Are they any good?

Yes and No.

I used them once.

To be fair the items were fine, but they were so slow in arriving, the cost of the items is not that cheap as they seem to whack the postage costs on!

Depends on what you want to use the items for..if for your business, I would say no, get them done properly.
There are lots of people on here who offer a good service.

If you just want a few items for yourself, then yes, they are alright.

I also kept getting emails from them - I had to put them into the block senders list!

To be fair to Vistaprint they do have a place in the printing marketplace but in my opinion no self-respecting business would use them for many of their products as they are a bit poor in quality but that explains why they are cherpy cherpy cheap cheap.

Used them until I knew better.

This board supplies some very good printers and so does your local area, you just have to snoop em out.

As for Vista, use their first offer, grab loads for free then unsubscribe

When I started out a few years back and costs were keept low I needed thousands of business cards. I managed to get what I wanted plus hundreds of brochures, caps, pens, letterheads, T shirts and loads more for virtually nothing. I just learnt a trick or two of how to use those e mails.
Now my business is bigger and able to afford a little bit more I would not get their business cards but for a start up they are decent enough.

I use them all the time for everything and am happy with service, quality, price and delivery times. For me the benefot is being able to design the tiems myself with their very easy template system. My website here is one of vistaprints
http://www.artist-writer.com. I'm quite pleased with it and the features that come with it. At less than £8 a month I can't grumble!

Don't normally go in for competitor-bashing, but let's just say VP have done us a big favour. Once people see and feel the difference between cheap and quality printing, they tend not to go back. :)

I have to agree with you, I have had many clients that thought they were getting a great deal from Vistaprint only to be let down by their service and quality which works great for everyone else as that is a major selling point for me.

We usually offer a discount to compensate former Vista Print clients for the money they have spent with Vista.

Always disappointed with the results and bring us what they have had produced to show what they do not want.

They deliver product in a market sector - but not one I would ever aspire to.

Harsh but true. An unfortunate reality.

I have an offer of 500 business cards, full colour 1 side, blank on back for £5 from Vista Print.
Surely that's worth it?

The trick with Vistaprint is the extra charges for little additions - they're like the Ryan Air of the printing world!

£5.00 for 500 cards sounds good - but you'll probably be charged for shipping, editing the design, uploading any of your own designs / images and any other tiny little amendment or addittion you care to make.

One thing is for sure - you will never get 500 cards delivered to your door for £5.00

I cant fault VP.

I have used them twice and both times paid extra for better quality card and chose and edited a double sided template.

Delivery was, first time about a week and the second time a few days.

The finished quality being as good as any business card I have seen and that's quite a few.

As far as value for money was concerned I looked at a couple of UK online business card printers but VP were by far and away the better value even when I paid extra.

As far as bombardment of emails yes they do but they have respected my email opt out.

I would prefer to use a local printer but finding them is not always as easy as one might think.

I used Vista Print when i first started out and to be honest, they served a purpose at a reasonable price. As others have said, what you get is what you pay for and now, I would most certaintly used one of the established forum members.

VP may be cheap, but do they offer value?

Vista is Great

You can choose different methods for shipping if in a rush its more.

If your not in a rush its cheap.

Editing options are needed to REMOVE The Vista Print logo on back of the merchadise which is a payable option.

I don't say don't use vistaprint as your printer. I don't!!
But I better ask: why do people use them?
They got design feature on their website and they print in low quantity in "low" price.
Quality? not always resonable. Free stuff? none is free

I've just ordered from them and was shocked to find out that it will take 21 days to deliver my business cards! You pay a higher fee to get them quicker though. With all the different charges they end up being not so cheap after all!

There are far better companies on here, to order from!

They take for ever to arrive, are not cheap, you have to be very careful as they tend to sneak other things into your basket in the hope you will not notice - and the 'free' is most certainly not, free!

When I ordered some business cards from Vistaprint, I too experienced what can only be described as a torrent of email promotions.

I never realized I was getting married to them.

I warned them I would report them to the police for harrassment and that my name and address were NOT their property and they were now committing offences under the Harrasment Act and quite possibly the Data Protection Act.

They wrote and apologized saying the emails would stop. I have to give the person that emailed me credit, the emails have stopped. I dare not do business with them again in case the whole thing starts again.

Hope you learn something from this Vistaprint.

I have heard this a lot about Vistaprint, both in terms of loads of upsells and absolutely relentless follow up email.

I must admit, that as an online printing company, we do follow up clients who order online but we try to add some value with links to our blog which has marketing tips and ideas and we do offer our subscribers special offers..... but we keep it to a sensible level and don't email twice a day like Vistaprint have been known to do!

I think once a week is ok and occasionally we email twice if there is something relevant to say!

Errr... No. You are a business and they are allowed to send you marketing emails. They weren't committing any offences.

We use VistaPrint for the most basic cheap cheap packages.

Remember to opt out at every stage and you do get good value.

Their 21 day delivery (in my experience) usually only takes 5 days.

Buisiness cards for beginners! As soon as possible move on to a quality product!
