virtual office and business/director address service recommendations?

Does it have to be in London?

There are lots of virtual office companies in the UK but check out all their extras including "hidden" extras (those tucked away in small print) that altogether can make it expensive especially over a period of time.

We have just one fixed price and only the actual postage cost to forward your mail on, is extra. This makes it easier to see what you are spending on the whole service.

Make sure the company you use is registered with HMRC for the Money Laundering Regulations and with the ICO for data protection, as most competitor websites we look at including their sign up forms, don't even mention this. Also, sign up should never be automatic because there has to be a manual intervention to check your application and your verification documents (ie passport, driving licence, utility bills, etc) are valid, eligible and correct, before approval to use the virtual office service. We see a lot of websites that take instant sign ups and payment......makes you wonder.

was really looking for something in London though but I will check out your website and have a think

In the meantime does anyone have any experience with Westone?

Westone....DON'T DO IT......

Do a websearch for westone business for adverse publicity or go to a site called 'whocallsme' (I have no affiliation with this website and I am not a competitor of westone, just someone who was looking for the same thing).

Regus, not too good either.

Unfortunately, cheap is not always better, in the long run. Do a lot or research before committing.

What is it specifically you are after with regards to a virtual office? AllDayPA offer a virtual receptionist service and have various packages to suit your requirements whether you are a small business or a larger one. So if you are worried about costs then this may be a good way to manage how much you are spending. Sorry if this is not specifically what you meant!

Hi there

Thanks for all the replies I really appreciate it!

I am looking for a Business address and Directors address service and the obvious forwarding of official business correspondence.

I do not require office space, a telephone answering service or anything other than a registered address to use for my business to protect my home location.

Really stuck because there are so many and I thought Westone was ok but now it looks like I'm back to square one!

Thanks again guys would be really interested to hear from people who use search a service and have found a company they are happy with - particularly those in London!

Who did you go for in the end? Thanks P.M

I've used http://www.londonpresence.com/ under the http://www.companiesmadesimple.com/ umbrella for a number of years now without much in the way of complaints. To be truthful, when something has needed fixing or changing, they have been able to sort it on the end of a phone or email fairly quickly.

For companies, their user interface, with instant connection to Companies House is very easy to navigate and the best I have seen, thus rendering most of the others to second place immediately.

I'm sure some have issues with them but they do what it says on the tin at a fair price in my opinion.

Companies made simple looks like it could be good will research them further and see what I discover!
