Hello all,

Apologies if this is in the wrong area but this is my first post.

I am looking for a reasonably priced virtual landline number that I can divert to my mobile as cheaply as possible.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Is Skype any good for this?

I'd recommend Voipfone. They're a member on here.

Around a couple of pounds per month to rent a localised UK landline number which can be topped up with PAYG or recurring credit, and then a VoIP app like Softphone to re-direct calls to a mobile through mobile or WiFi data.

That way, you don't have to pay for the cost of re-directing and calling a mobile number, as the app handles the call directly through the internet.

Re. "Is Skype any good for this?" I would say yes, not bad. Any service that forwards the call to your mobile number means you will pay the cost of that part of the call. But with Skype (and voip) the call can be forwarded over the internet, avoiding the cost of calling your mobile. You will of course need a smartphone capable of running the Skype mobile app, and a reasonably good mobile internet connection. You can do more or less the same using a voip server (using a voip mobile app in stead of the Skype app).
