Hi folks,

Just researching this right now so excuse my lack of knowledge.

I'm interesting in video ads for my website/app. I know video ads are annoying but I reckon with the content and purpose of our site we could make it work for users.

It would be the 30 second type ad that you need to watch before continuing progress on the site but I'm struggling to find the source of this, I'd like to put this type of ad on our website and app but not sure if this is only possible within apps?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give to point me in the right direction on this.

If you want to do this just google "autoplay video" for the particular method you are using to create your web site. eg

http://easyhtml5video.com/help/html5-video-autoplay-16.html

A couple of tips.
  • Don't use high quality video when people are unlikely to have the bandwidth to play it properly
  • Don't have sound autoplaying. Use captions. Nothing makes me close a site faster than suddenly having an ad blasting out, particularly if I am already listening to something on my PC.

Yeah I get that and appreciate your advice, what I'm trying to achieve is take something that we currently have paid subscribers and make it free - catch being watching 30 second video once a month, may also place some ads on the site.

Seems apps like Raffler and the free postcode lottery are showing good growth and users being prepared be exposed to ads as long its transparent.

Just really interested in what platform I can pick up these ads, first time I've used Adwords and struggling to work out if that the right route.
