on a few occasions I’ve imported goods from within the eu. Normally there is no VAT.
A recent purchase was invoiced without vat and then the supplier re invoiced with vat at 9% and 21% - the supplier is in Holland.
I asked my accountant who says there should e no vat but the supplier won’t change it.
Any thoughts?

The supplier has your VAT number?

I believe If it is B2B and you have supplied your VAT number (assuming you are VAT registered!) then VAT should not be charged.

Who knows how that will change in November.......

Hey there!

Had a quick chat with our expert accountant and here’s what he had to say.

If you have made a purchase from an EU supplier and you have been charged VAT by the EU supplier, you may be able to reclaim this VAT back from the country that the VAT was charged in.

Check out the link below for instructions on how to reclaim this VAT back.
