Valentine Ball! Advice please

I work for a College and we are holding a Valentine Ball for all students, i work in the Marketing Department and would love to hear some fantastic idea's regarding what Theme to be used, to make it more exciting!

It would be highly appreciated if you replied with some idea's on what theme it will be!

This is my 1st thread and my 1st time visiting this website, it seems really good and some top professional people!

James Bond Theme

• Gives all of the blokes the push they need to dress up in Tuxedos,
• Lets the girls get as glam as they want
• you can speak to one of the local dealerships and get them to lend you some snazzy sports cars as props
• have a casino
• have a cocktail bar
• various fairground stalls, climbing walls etc - shotting galleries for everyone to show off their skills
• Get loads of gadgety things as donations for a raffle/or prizes etc
• possibilities are endless.

At the moment, we are currently working on where this event will occur, it could be the case of it won't happen, so at this stage we dont want to be asking the students, and thats a reason on publishin this article!

How about having a theme of horoscopes. Everyone would have to dress to represent their particular sign.

You could have:
Drinks based on the 12 signs of the zodiac.
Competition for the best male and female outfits
Information on compatible signs dotted around the place

The list is endless....

I work for a large events company and we find themes tend not to work as well as planned, however if it's for students you should be ok as they tend to get into the spirit of events a little more. An interesting idea a saw a few weeks ago was a 'London Tube Station Party' where everyone one comes dressed representing the name of a tube station. You certainly see some interesting creations with the like of 'Cockfosters, Maida Vale' Shepherd's Bush' etc etc
