Using TLD's Domains Effectively

I have 3 domains e.g.:
domain.co.uk
domain.com
domain.uk

What is the best way to get maximum exposure to the primary one .co.uk without falling foul of search engines?

Should I just redirect the 2 other domains to the primary or set up some (unique) content on them and automatically divert after x seconds?

Should I also register them individually with the search engines?

I have the domains as I do not want a squatter or someone dodgy taking advantage of them!

Great - that's nice and simple.

Thanks

Actually, based on my experience, I would say the answer to this largely depends on the industry you're trying to operate in.

The only case where maintaining separate TLDs for each country, also called Gcctlds is when you're a service area business and the search results that are returned to a user are largely local in nature.

For example: searching for restaurant furniture in the scotland & in london is going to return separate results eventhough it is fairly simple for a firm to supply to both of the locations from any of the other locations.

I may have made this sound more complex than it actually is
