Using quotes from website for website content?

Hi there,

This may be a bit of an odd question, but I am thinking of using some quotes from a TV series/film to generate content - similar to lorem ipsum. The content will be used for mockups and dummy content.

Am I allowed to use quotes/sentences from TV shows for example? If not, can I modify the quotes slightly?

Any advice would be great, thanks!

You can only quote small sections if in context and properly referenced. This is called fair use. Not sure why you would want to do this. Far safer to use something like a Wikipedia article which is Creative Commons.

You could use text from out of copyright books: lots on https://www.gutenberg.org/

You can get huge amounts of text (and some images) that way.

If you more iamges you could try Creative Commons search: https://search.creativecommons.org/

It also links to some sources of CC licensed audio and video.
