Is there a app that can allow you to use video on your mobile phone and send it to someone who can save it at the same time. Thinking with girls out alone a night they may be possible to switch on cameras when someone is acting suspicious and send the image live to say home where it automatically gets recorded, so if anything did happen than there is a record and hopefully able to identify person involved. Obviously your own phone could be destroyed or taken in a attack hence the remote record

I think you should be able to do this on whatsapp - create a group called "home" and invite your family member to the group. Not a livestream though, but once the recorded has stopped will be sent and saved on the group chat.

Downside of this one is that it relies on the device still being switched on and active whilst it compresses and then uploads the video to WhatsApp.
The most reliable option is the Facebook option, create a private group with you all in it, and then live stream to the group so it remains a private video. Downside is setting it up to live stream each time will take a few minutes but I think you'll get that with pretty much any solution, so your daughter will need to start the streaming before it starts to feel too uncomfortable a situation.
Means there will likely be a constant "false positives" but I'm sure you'd prefer that than nothing.

And some phone providers FB data is not counted towards the cap, she could use it whenever walking anywhere iffy (as long as she has battery) then delete when she gets home.

Slightly separate, but I only found out you can share your location and track via whatapp!

It might give some peace of mind, but I'm not sure how much use it would be in a real situation, which means that peace of mind might be working against them.

You see CCTV clips of things and they're always so blurry. I know phone cameras can be better, but then you've got bandwidth and storage issues.

Avoiding the potential situation is going to be more useful than filming it. Maybe get them an account with a taxi company so they don't have to worry about paying?
