Using a virtual business address?

It’s got nothing to do with modern trends. It’s all about trust. People check locations to check legitimacy.

I personally never check an address before I order, never have and have never had any problems.

I agree I never check the address when buying online I just order. May look at reviews or returns policy but never look too in-depth at registered address etc.

Do you know that Virtual offices/addresses go the extra mile to ensure those registered with them have supplied their I.D-verified documents before they can use their service? It is not iniquitous. This to me is more credible and more professional. It's the scammers that use unverrified so called ''home addresses'', that no one checks, that I worry about. Everyone in the modern business world is well versed with virtual offices or virtual business addresses, this is why WEWORK was at one point valued at 47Billion and this is why this continues to be lucrative ''blue waters'' for VC's. Co-working spaces, virtual offices, virtual secretaries, virtual switchboards, virtual work....thats the future, checking the address I am ordering from.....thats archaic. The clock ticks, whether we like it or not, eighther we move on or they move on and we get left behind holding our flip-phones and Blackberries. Like it or not, that is the new way of doing business, and as always, those who do not evolve, become extinct.

When I see a virtual address or serviced office and 4-5 day delivery timescale I immediately think it’s a Chinese seller. Or when I discover a company is operating out of a newsagent in Telford. Had one the other day whose postcode is a field in Essex. So yes, I do check who I’m buying from. Maybe I am a dinosaur, but like many other it’s going to be a while before we are extinct.

Because in my industry, a lot of the sellers have .co.uk sites but are shipping from China or Hong Kong, and customers don't like getting nasty surprises.

Virtual addresses are booming it’s a generational issue about using home address. Everyone is different just as is every business too. I respect the views of all but agree to disagree.

I agree with you and avoids getting junk mail. Customers turning up at your address etc. There are more positives than negatives. I still think most customers don’t look at a registered address they are so busy they simply search what they want to buy maybe glance at reviews and pay. Returns policy should be clearly stated which they will look at too.

Do you have any evidence to support this? A lot depends on what you sell and to whom but people do investigate, compare and check. The higher the value of the goods the more they check.

I’m not suggesting using a virtual address is bad, it’s just that you will probably sell more with an address people can find on google. In fact it has been shown a home business with the right marketing can perform better than larger businesses (because it feels more personal).
