Sorry if this has been asked before, but I am new to UKBF.

We have a very successful UK based e-commerce business that makes handmade personalised baby blankets (30k+ products per year), and considering targeting the Dubai market and wanted to know if anyone else done this (not amazon businesses) but UK based SME businesses?

If so, how have you managed the customs process? Did you obtain a DED trader licence?

and who did you use use for delivery pick-up in the UK? and delivery in Dubai?

We currently use Royal Mail in the UK and Ireland.

Hi Paul. My company specialises in helping businesses grow into new markets with ease and without breaking the bank.

The easiest solution is to partner with a logistics company that can take care of all of this for you. Many companies like DHL, Fedex and UPS for example with give you prices for shipping but not how to navigate customs, make sure you have the right docs and they are filled in correctly. Certificates or origin are required, stamped by the chamber of commerce. original packing lists and commercial invoices signed in blue ink and so much more. That is where I come in :)

you only need a DED if you are based in Dubai. It is important to let your customers know that there will be tax and duty to pay on all imports into the UAE.

    Hope this helps.
