I would like to know which bank would be easy to set up online without visiting the branch. I can provide scan copy via email or fax of my ID but i dont have time to visit the branch due to business needs. I would really appreciate it some one could help me as it would further my business plan much easier.

I setup a Barclays a/c online for a client the other day. He doesn't have a personal relationship with them and he didn't have to visit the branch. He uses our registered office so his new a/c details arrived here yesterday. They've requested a copy of his signature but no ID. I believe at most they may have called him to run through a few Q's.

Tut tut that's very naughty of them. Factoring companies have to comply with the same legislation and they want to see and take copies of passports or driving licences. I assume that Barclays are doing a roaring trade with illegal immigrants if they don't insist on ID

I'm pretty sure when I setup a business account with Santander I didn't need to go into branch, although I did already have a personal account with them - I imagine if you already have a personal account with a bank they may not need to you to in to branch so could be worth speaking to your current bank if you hold a personal account with them.
