Hello I am sure its fairly normally people having two jobs....but for me its the first time that I am going to try this - one is a full time job and the other is part-time (covering evenings and weekends). Both jobs are temporary and working from home.

I am not sure how I am going to cope - if you have done this type of thing and able to offer any advise that would be great!

What do you mean by not being able to cope?

You do one job during the day and then do the other one after dinner. When everything is done for the day you go to bed.

Used to do this, worked full time as a sales rep during the day, and I was also doing a full time night shift, which started as a favour but just kept going since the company couldn’t recruit qualified staff.

After a year and a half, I almost fell asleep at the wheel whilst driving home, luckily there was a police laybye on the motorway I knew of, so I pulled into that. Later they woke myself up, four hours later with the engine still running, let myself off with a warning, and the advice whatever I was doing wasn’t worth it.

I resigned over the phone a few minutes later, from both jobs, same employer. You only have so long on this earth, use the time wisely.

Work hard, but play harder is the motto I live by.

Just make sure you aren't exhausting yourself / burning yourself out. Completely manageable as long as you are getting enough rest and having time for yourself.

The law requires that your employer(s) do not make you work more than an average of 48 hours per week (measured over 17 weeks). If you will be doing more than this you shoulld be aware of the possible effects on your health.

As long as you can cope. I've done full time jobs and worked in the night for a few days Thur, Fri, Sat in a club. It's OK as I'd have been out disco dancing anyway so it just meant i was earning something & not spending money. It was socially a good thing too.

It's interesting on this but how is the employer held responsible and will they even know but for a tax code.
They have to make reasonable enquiries. If the employee chooses to lie, and that is documented, the employer would not be liable for health and safety consequences.

I once took a fill in job as a driver for a next day delivery company. One of the other drivers who's hours were the same as mine, 7.15 am til finished, usually about 5pm was an agency artic lorry driver doing night runs for Sainsburys. How he got away with it i'll never know!
