TWITTER - Do you find it useful?

I've found Twitter to work wonders for my business. It's just a fantastic way to network, learn new tips and tricks of the trade, and keep updated with everything that's going on in the world.

We've even found new recruits on there.. Picking up local talent to add to our offering. And we're currently using it to find a web developer to join our team.

It's quite easy to get your head around and there are lots of helpful tutorials on YouTube that will help you make the most out of Twitter.

Twitter has been useful in several ways for me, I've used it to gain internet traffic to my website and have gained a few customers using it too. I've also made some very useful business contacts through it as well as getting some interesting followers for example after mentioning how amusing I had found the new Greggs advert, Greggs followed me. A useful tool if used correctly, but not suitable for everyone in my opinion

We have started using twitter and one good business purpose is to keep customers up to date with what we are doing. If they are following us on twitter they can see when we add a new feature or new blog article.

Works for people who are using it to ask us a question, although we have other mechanisms for this as well. But before buying it is an easy way for someone to ask us a question that feels less formal. Not as high a volume as emails at the moment but it is increasing.

It can be an interruption though so has to be managed in a positive way.

If it is helpful you can have a look at our business twitter to see how this is used by different customers/potential customers

Good luck, it takes a little while to build into using it. I am still working at building relationships.. not as good as my business partners.

With sites like Facebook, Linked In, and Twitter dominating the marketing arena,
entrepreneurs are jumping on board to "get seen" in the fast changing world of
Web 2.0. But if you ask people why they're there and what they hope to achieve,
answers start getting fuzzy. It seems like most entrepreneurs and professionals
don't have a clear idea of what to expect from social networking or how to
measure results.

It's easy to get blinded by the surface activities, but believe it or not there are
some very strategic moves going on underneath. As an entrepreneur, you must
first understand WHY you're using social networking and HOW you want it to
impact your business and online visibility.

Hope this is of help.
