Tweaking a sale after launch?

I put a sale up yesterday (lowered all prices on my site by 10% for a week) but I've just noticed that we also have a discount code we use for newsletter subscribers that gives additional 5% off a first order so because I've reduced my prices it's been posted on various deals websites that if you also use the newsletter code you can effectively get 15 % off.

If I were to change the terms of the 10% sale to disallow the use of additional discounts is this a legal issue in any way?

The 10% sale is fine but 15 is not what I had in mind. I wouldn't be wanting to change any orders already made, just update it to not allow stacked discounts.

It’s your business, you can discount however you want. Just change the site and no one will ever notice.

I agree, I'm doubtful many people would notice! Also, you can choose to run your sales for as long or as little as you like. I would just reduce the amount of discount as you see fit.

I had the same situation with a site and altered the T&Cs to say you couldn't use a discount code while another promotion was running. I added a note that if the discount code expired during the other promotion we'd extend the life of the code. No-one noticed or took up the offer of an extension.

Maybe a silly question but why have you reduced all the prices on your site I could understand selected items for BF
