New to business , it is a limited company , I had some stock that wasn’t compliant with law at the back of the shop until it could be safely disposed of . Member of staff also brought some items in the shop which I was unaware of as used one of the boxes as they were sending off again an item ( which was tobacco ) they bought . Trading standards took these items and I was asked to go into the office under caution , I got legal representation however TS are not replying to them. Solicitor has said they not going away but how long does this normally take I believe I havnt done anything wrong but this is all taking a long time to get any answers

You haven't described the issue. What is it?
There were items in the shop which should not have been there, some non-compliant and awaiting destruction and some brought in by a member of staff. Trading standards have found the items and are planning an under caution interview. Solicitor involved, but nothing happening.

OP what doesa your solicitor say?

The question is what items and what precisely is the Trading Standards Officer complaint? Is it the sale of tobacco or cuddly teddy bears where the buttons are non-compliant? ie they are likely to be pulled off by children and swallowed?

Until the OP defines what the complaint is about it's all pie in the sky.

Doesn’t matter. The solicitor is dealing with it. Nothing for us to do except say it will take as long as it takes (which was the question asked).
