Hi Guys

Anyone got any tips on what to look out for on google Analytics and Search Console to help figure out why my Organic clicks have been dropping recently? I migrated to a new version of Magento 2 in Mid-July but my down turn had started from the start of July.

It also looks like my Search Console had lost my website Property too as I had to set this all up again ref verification, so I only have data from it for this month! :-(

It might literally just be an seasonal down turn but I want to rule out anything related to the updated Magento site.

I was thinking of comparing

1. Site speed from before and after the upgrade
2. Bounce Rate on Checkout again before and after upgrade

Anything else I could be checking to try and rule out the upgrade being the cause of the issues?

Hi Fagin

Sorry just to clarify I want to see why my organic clicks are down, although for the month of July/Aug my PPC clicks have also been down.

My thoughts are, once I know why the clicks are down and if my conversion rate is steady then by sorting the drop in click my sales will increase in turn :)

Hi. With SEO it can be an uphill struggle. I've done it for over 20 years and it's a minefield now! Make sure your site is relevant, fresh and fast TBF. It could be that your drop in traffic is due to an algorithm change/update.
I would look to your Google console and this should give you an indication of keywords, pages, bounce rates etc.
It is quieter than usual at the moment as Ive seen myself with the peaks and troughs and holidays etc though!

In addition to this. Did you keep the same URLS and structure when you migrated to Magento?
I'm guessing this was a WP site before?
It's always been Magento. He just upgraded the version.

@Sparetoolparts - this is where you need to look at your analytics. Download the data and start doing some analysis. You may find numbers are down in jiust some areas or they are down across the board. Was it a gradual decline of something overnight? Are you still converting the same percentage?

We don't know what business you're in so it's difficult to pinpoint the problem.
The clue is in his user name. He sells spare parts for tools.
