Hi All,

I'm conducting a study and my goal is to find out what would people like to improve about their websites the most.
Later, I'm planning to launch a service that will help people to achieve their goal easier.

So, question for all - point out one thing that you would like to improve the most.

Examples, based on data I've already receive:
* Some business owners are satisfied with the amount of website visitors, but problem is - people are leaving the website very fast. Most of them do not visit more than one page.
* Many of my visitors are using mobile devices, but my website do not have a mobile version. Some of them reported that they cannot play video content
* One person invested a lot in youtube videos, but still videos are watched very rarely and there is much less subscribers that he hoped for.
* Company that sells online seminars have newsletter subscription form and they payed quite large sum to have this feature implemented( subscription form + newsletter mailing system). Problem? They only got less than 50 subscriptions in 6 months from the website.
* This website is developed more than 3 years ago. Owner would like a new design but don't want complete new website, because content transfer is a lot of work. Hard to find someone who's willing to implement new design but keep old cms system.

Looking forward to hear your thoughts!

The problem with questions like yours is that every website is different.
  • Reducing bounce mught be a priority for some but others might be happy to get visitors only looking at one page then picking up the phone.
  • Some sites might spend a lot of money creating a mobile (responsive desgin) but only get a tiny fraction of their visitors using a smartphone.
  • Subscription sites might be failing because there are only a few people interested in that service.
  • What works for me may not work for you.
  • Your promo video might be better than mine but because of the way you market your site you get less conversions.
If there was only one way to solve a problem all website would look the same. But because every site has a different demographic and conversion parameters there are multiple solutions.

Each point from my original post was made by a different website owner :)
I asked them to tell me one thing they will like to improve about their website and I wrote here few answers that were most interesting...
Sure, we should approach each of their issues separately.
Sorry if my English confused you :)

Anyone else? What is the one thing that you would like to improve the most about your website?

i think to improve a website it depend upon lot of factors:
1. concept of your website which is really important thing.
2. content of a website should have a quality, uniqueness and easy to understand.
3. technique and technology used to design, develop and for database.
4. Most importantly built in such a way that it can improve/ upgrade in future.

I constantly strive for fast page load times on my sites. Whether that be through using static content when I can (there are some excellent static HTML generating blog platforms out there) or just using caching and CDNs. The faster the better if you ask me.

The worst thing in the world is pretty website that takes ages to load. What a waste.
