Take a look and give your feedback.

I should admit at this point that The Business Channel is a client of mine....

There is a programme at 10:00 this morning called "Macau The Flipside of the Game" then "Bizkids" at 11:00. Later on, there is a programme at 18:30 called "Dream Merchants" featuring an interview with Tarun Kataria Head of Investment Banking at HSBC.

If anyone is able to watch either channel, I would be genuinely interested in some honest feedback.

I got very excited when the business channel launched as I really thought it filled a gap. But I hardly ever check what's on it now as it just seems to be the same programmes over and over again (and to be honest they weren't that interesting in the first place - the history of salt trading by Sri-Lankan monks or something - maybe that's just me).

Haven't heard about the Entrepreneur Channel though, I'll check it out.

I can tell you that the channel is in the process of a relaunch..... though new content comes aboard all the time.

The idea of repeating programmes is on the basis that someone who watches it at 11am is probably a different person who watches at 8pm... but I certainly take this on board.

To be honest I never knew that they existed ..... I'm catch it when I can over the next week or so and see what it's all about ..... just out of interest, I heard a few years ago that companies had to pay circa £1m per year to appear on the Sky listing menu - any truth in it, without going into exact figures of course?

I like the EC - its owned by Andrew Reynolds who also gets himself on there.

A lot of people may consider this kind of sales to be annoying but I actually really like it. They get some great names on there with their products. I bought one of Brian Tracey's products which i found very useful..

Well there's nothing but bloody soaps on tonight so I thought I'd check out EC. It appears to be QVC for gullible Branson-wannabees. I'm currently watching them promote some DVD called "cash on demand" which apparently tells you how to earn a million quid a year.

Giving up the day job as we speak...

"LOL"

Just had a quick look.
He said "one of his student's buy's in something for just £5 and sells it for £195.00 having used the cash on demand system."
What on earth could that product be....

Sounds a bit fishy to me. An unannounced relaunch that takes it off air for weeks even though the programme schedule is still in the guide. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm reading between the lines!

Something definitely doesn't sound right.

This coincides with a sales call I received from The Business Channel a while back. The sales guy was trying to sell me advertising on the channel. His pitch was Ok, but he was offering me far too many deals in his first call... it put me off because it all sounded very desperate. It now seems they was giving it one final push...

I like the idea of The Business Channel and theres no reason why it shouldn't work if they plan it better. Look how popular business-related shows like Dragons Den and The Apprentice are.

Well according to Brad Burton of 4N the Business Channel has gone into administration: http://www.4networking.biz/forum/5/26529.htm

Brad was on the Business Channel earlier this week apparently talking about 4N and further broadcasts of his interview were scheduled for this morning so I guess he must have some contact within the channel and know what is going on.

If true, then it is a sad irony at the start of 2009 that "The Business Channel" should go into administration.

Yep,

I stumbled across it about 4 months ago, and saw a caption of The Psychology of Selling by Brian Tracy, i purchased the CD and immediately did a 1 week training session with my sales team, we saw an immediate personality change in our sales force and we have started to use you can the art closing alot more. I amnot to sure about the other businesses who advertise on their, but if you ever ge the opportunity to watch Brian Tracey he is very good, i believe they have a website you can also go to to watch past interviews.

Hi
I have watched them and, maybe this is a coincidence, but this got me thinking, why not a UK Business Forums type satellite channel, or more to the point, how much does it cost to have your own channel?

The EC channel is not exactly rip roaring exciting stuff. I feel that if you could combine the energy of bidup tv or similar with business, it might attract a wee bit of attention.

On that, I think I will post this as an idea!

All the best

The Business Channel has some good content but its presentation is worse than lousy.

On some programmes you can't read the names of people at the bottom of the screen because the picture's been 'stretched' for some reason.

One one occasion, I was watching a movie on the channel and after an ad break finished, another programme started! I sent an email asking what had happened and to this day no one replied.

I can only assume it was put together by a bunch of amateurs who don't know the finer points of TV production.

The Entrepreneur Channel is well presented, however.

Just looked again and there is an announcement on their website which says:
Please note that The Business Channel is not broadcasting at present. The intention is to relaunch the channel later this month. Please await details of an announcement in due course.

Hi there, think I can cast a bit of light on this, as I'm one of the Programme makers for the Channel. My understanding is that notwithstanding what happened to the previous parent company, the Channel is being reformatted and is coming back in the fairly near future.

I'm guessing there's been some type of buyout.

Jeremy seems to have the Commercial side under good control so I'm hoping it will be a great new destination for Businesses - we're working with them on some innovative new shows so I'm confident. Oh and Duane - look forward to filming with you! (I'm Robert's Producer!)

All the best,

Nik Coleman
