Hello Everyone,

I have been a customer with Voipfone for about 5 years now I think.

However, my needs are now changing. And I have communicated with their technical support and I am not sure if they can help. This is what I need, it seems relatively simple and straightforward.

I want all calls that come through on our main landline number to simultaneously ring all the mobiles that we have, like a hunt group. Before the calls start ringing the mobiles, I want then to hear a pre-recorded message like, "thank you for calling XYZ company...all calls are recorded...".

The way I see it working is, so if the first mobile number 1 is busy, then, it won't try mobile number 1, and it will keep ringing the other mobiles until someone answers. The other option is to ring the numbers one by one instead of simultaneously. I prefer to use mobiles for staff. I realise I would paying for call forwarding, which is fine. Voipfone tell me this would not be possible. When I used virtual PBX's before hunt groups were fairly basic feature. So I am looking at alternative option like RingCentral.

The is reason why I want to do this. Thank you.

The main issue you you will have - from a technical point of view - is voicemail.

Because your mobiles voicemail answering the call will count as the call being answered from the VoIP side, you will either need to disable voicemail on the mobiles, or have a prompt for the mobiles to "press 1" to accept the call for example.

The term you are really looking for is a "blast" group, which is possible with those few requirements, but can get a bit complicated to make sure all voicemails are off etc.

We have a similar system via Voipfone, as you describe but without the initial message. We use data/voip to forward calls to mobiles, but if data isn't available the calls automatically divert using the mobile network. As long as Voipfone voicemail is set to cut in in less time than mobile voicemail you can use Voipfone voicemail for calls to Voipfone number and mobile voicemail for mobile calls. If you want any more details let me know.

The problem is voicemail on the mobile - once it hits that, nothing can be done. Did you actually speak to someone? If you'd like to PM me your number, I'll get one of the guys to call you and explain it.
