The average consumer can sense a script from a million miles away and they do resent it. A rigid script means the consumer might just as well hear a recorded message and the sales person is very easily wrong footed with even a simple question from the prospect - sale dead.

By all means have a structure and process within your conversation and the best sales people can guide the sale through to successful conclusion without the prospect realising it. A key vital element of that process is listening.

Hi does anyone have a B2B script/pitch for selling telecoms over the phone?
Im really interested in seeing one - especially mobile b2b pitches
any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

I have a script, having once worked for a large mobile phone company....but guess what I never used it.

Like others have said people can sense a script.

''Goodmorning my name is blah blah blah'', and ''that's a great phone you have there, what happens if you were to lose it''.....I certainly wouldn't listen to crap like that, so I never used it. Personality and listening is the key - we have two ears and one mouth for a reason.

I got wrong for not using it for call quality scores, I used to back that up my getting results!

Out of interest, what company are you - or are you another subcontracted company that calls on behalf of XX?

Bullet points are better than a script... Use bullet points to make sure you get points across but allow things to flow naturally. You can always tell people reading from a script and if you are reading in a script you don't know about the product, if you don't know about the product you don't believe in it and if you don't believe in it / its requirement to the customer you will find it very, very hard to sell...

Speaking off the cuff can seem difficult, frightening or put you out of your comfort zone but I guarantee you it will give you life, personality, realism and sound 'human'.

Don't be fooled by thinking a script will make the job easier or give you some insight on how to be great at what your trying to sell or point out. However I do agree you need to have bullet points to keep your conversation in context and to ensure you get all your points across....however you do it

There is of course the age old adage of practise makes perfect and a follow up call, email , letter etc of why you were / were not succesfull in securring a deal is a great way to build on knowledge or improve.

Just my thoughts......good luck

Hi, as part of my business I help train and coach sales and marketing staff, and telecoms is a subject that I encounter a lot, I have a few script pointers I can forward to you if its of any use? As others have said you want to steer clear of actual scripts but if you have something infront of you that will help you structure a 'normal conversation' but also help gain all the information you need as well as getting your point across.
Drop me a pm and I will email you a few ideas

Hi i am pretty much still a virgin to this site - i would absolutely love it if you could show me a few basic scripts - i just want to get a different view on how to approach the call. I am from a media background (15 years) ask me how to sell a 10k advert and i could write you 10 scripts with my eyes closed on how to do this but Telecoms is completely new to me - so your kind help would be very much appreciated.
thank you so much
Karyn

I would also go down the no-script route I'm afraid. Our experience of b2b mobile lead generation has been successful when you shut and listen to what the requirements are. Early part of the conversation is gathering info such as how many handsets, what network, what's their main need ie; data, calls, texts etc... Once you know all this you can talk about what you can offer to suit that need. Starting the other way round, trying to explain what you have and how it fits is back to front and will be much harder :)

Couldn't have said it better myself....it's like I mentioned in the earlier post. And to Karyn, sell me a £10K advert in 10 secs and I will give you my script (that I never used) if you really really really need one.

:)
