Sunday trading

So, Easter has been and gone. Some shops were open some were closed. It again raised the question about Sunday trading.

Do you think retail traders should be allowed to open on a Sunday ?

Should they be allowed? Yes. Just like they should be allowed to open any other day. You don't have to shop there, and providing that staff don't have to work there on those days, I don't see a problem.

I think if the retailer (owner....) wants to open then fine, but to have staff forced to work a bank holiday I disagree. The company I used to work for didnt have bank holidays as such, your holiday entitlement included bank hols, so if you wanted a bank holiday off you had to book it - but there was a requirement for so many members of staff to be in each day.
I like it when shops are open, it means I can go and buy things, so in answer to your question - as long as staff arnt made to work, and they do it voulentarily then yes they should be allowed to open 24/7/365

I like shopping on Sundays! (When I can be bothered shopping at all that is). There's not too many people around - I like it!

Our choice is to go to church on Sunday and we try not to go shopping on Sunday. That's our choice - the fact that other people choose to shop on Sunday is their's.

As others have said it is totally wrong if staff are forced to work on Sundays but if the shop owner wants to open that's also down to choice.

I know when I was younger the opportunity to work Sundays and Bank Holidays was a good one as it meant more cash.

Don't really see why shops shouldn't open on a Sunday at all.

Well I think that Sunday trading is a good thing for the economy ( and extra day to spend money ) and it allows people to earn some extra cash if they want to work an extra day.

Also not everyone likes having a Sunday off.
