Ok so i have been given the nightmare job of arranging a stag do for my friends wedding (im best man) has anyone got any suggestions, i would estimate a maximum of 15 people probably nearer 10.

I went to amsterdam and magaluf on stag do's last year, i hated magaluf but loved amsterdam.

would liek something a little different with cheapish drink and a good night life, we are not typical geordie yobs so would ike a mix of alchol and maybe a little culture/fun(more drink probably).

Any experiences/reccomendations?

Brussels was good, as was Northern Germany, did both as part of a road trip last year. Lille in France is also pretty good, and had a free zoo which was better than most I have ever been too which was a good laugh when the hangovers set in.

Prague is great.
Copenhaagen is fab too.

How much is a pint in copenhagen and prague, and whats the food like.
Everybody on the stag do is different as far as finances goes, so barcelona may be out of a lot of peoples budget as a lot of the lads on this stag do will be going to one in las vegas later on in the year.

Copers is great but not sure Easyjet still fly from Newcastle (I'm assuming you are still a Geordie if not a yob). It surely depends on your flight options and where people are flying from. Of the stag weekends, we've done Costa Del Sol, Nice, Faro, Zurich, Copnhagen, Munich. The less obvious choices were possible the best although Costa del Sol delivered because we had people flying from all over and it was very easy.

Croatia is great and perhap not so obvious for the Brit abroad, I think Jet2 will get you there.

Prague used to be really cheap but the prices are rising all the time with the popularity. I was talking about stag dos to a mate yesterday and he reckons Bulgaria is great for cheap prices, just don't get in any trouble as they don't seem to like the Brits being there.

Just my 2p from Stag do's i've been on in the last 5 years:

    Berlin:
Lovely place, plenty to do in the day (if not drinking) but nearer the centre is expensive and eurozone means it is not good value. Happy with groups of lads in one place if not in the chain bars . . .

    Prague:
Agree with the earlier post - fantastic place but getting more costly. Need to be careful on the evening and stay in groups or near the centre (but i'd say the same in any major UK city too)! Cheap hotels and cheap beer just outside the main square.

    Cork:
Lovely place but too small to cater for groups of rowdy lads and not enough to do during the day. Lovely place though. Expensive (Euros)

    Dublin:
Really good place but too popular with the stag do's and hen do's so the Pub's & Clubs can afford to be more selective with who they let in/kick out (and they price accordingly). The last thing you want is 10 in one bar and 10 in another . . .

    Riga:
Best of the bunch - up and coming city - plenty of development going on and happy to serve groups as long as sensible and pay for any breakages (there's always one)! Paid £3 for a the most expensive drink in a top bar and the cheapest bar was 30p a pint (I wouldn't like to comment on the quality though)! Went on the toboggan during the day (1hr out of Riga) but plenty to do (hiring kalashnikovs is popular too)!

    My advice would be:

    • Try to stay out of the Eurozone (our lot were ok paying c£200 for flights and accomodation/transfers but wanted it cheap once there)
    • If you're going to a popular place for UK stag do's then try to stay out of the popular times (School Holidays or Weekends) as otherwise you might as well be in Blackpool (no offence) as it'll be overrun with Brits and the locals get (understandably) annoyed!
    • Mix with the locals during the day and you're more likely to have a good night and get in wherever you want.
    • Do plenty of research but don't get put off by the horror stories. We've never had anything bad happen as we were prepared and knew where to go/not to go in the respective cities.
Hope you have a good trip wherever you decide . . .

Best stag do's I have been on have been to Prague (excellent), Amsterdam (excellent), Dublin and Newcastle.

I have been invited to one this weekend, which seems to be in Liverpool. We are having a little debate as to accommodation though.... anyone know anywhere suitable?

It would need to cater for 12 or so boisterous, slightly inebriated, and angry-looking men, and allow for some weird coming/going times :)

    Campanile will do the job

Best UK stag destiation I've been to is Newcastle apart from the rather early finish that the local council impose (they think it's 1952) it delivers in every way. Lots of bars, lots of clubs, plenty to do

I got back from Prague on Monday and wow the prices, plus the exchange rate, made it more expensive than some places in the UK. There was the odd bar where drinks were still around £1, but in most places you were looking at over £3-£4 for a pint, and food was really bad too. £15 for a burger and chips was the norm.

Many of the locals also seemed to take an instant dislike to us as a group of English men - I think the minority of the British groups of men who go over there have given the rest of us a bad name.

Don't get me wrong, I still loved it but it just wasnlt the same as when I went in 2006 and 2007.

Apparently Talin in Estonia is like Prague was 5-6 years ago, including the cheap prices - I know a few people who have been and they said it was amazing.

I would seriously look into Talin in Estonia, or Brno - Czech's 2nd city, which is also meant to be good.
