hello

I own a very small call centre if that's what I could call with only a handful of staff

Now I need to take on a couple more members and was thinking of outsourcing to South Africa as what I would be paying for one over her I can have two over there

I have a friend of a friend who owns a big call centre over there so I know I won't have a problem looking for staff etc as I will use his agents etc as they work for many UK companies over there

Any thoughts on this or does any one use agents from over seas for telesales

You need to ask yourself basic questions; this isnt a tough decision. Will business or product support or service suffer by outsourcing? Will you lose local knowledge and expertise? Are your customers sensitive to having a local person to speak with vs a generic off the shelf call centre? If the answer to any of the above is Yes, then weigh up if you really will be better off. A saving today shouldn't yield a loss tomorrow. If it does, then an investment today can mean a profit tomorrow.

What's your biz?

It depends on a lot of things, but by-and-large outsourcing your core business is a bloody stupid idea.
