Sourcing from China.

Can anyone recommend a good contact for sourcing goods from China or India even.

I have contacted a few suppliers through Alibaba, but they are doing my head in. They are not in the slightest bit interested in what you are telling them, they just want to sell you their fake crap.

Help!!!!!

Forget Alibaba and use globalsources.com or hktdc.com

As for agents, have you thought about speaking with swisslogistics, a member here?

Failing that, if it's straight forward, I may be able to give you a hand on my next trip. All depends on your timings though:)

Having you considered having your goods made in the UK. We can compete with the rest of the world in many sectors. There are lots of grants available and expertise for innovation, product development and design. We need to get away from the idea that everything has to be produced in China to be competitive.

Fair enough. I tried that last year and ended up paying three times the price for goods which were of a poorer quality and delivered eight weeks late.

Don't know why I bothered. I most certainly won't next time.

Talk to Paul Delahunty at Zhong Trading Solutions Ltd. He is a member on here.

They sort all of my sourcing in China and I cannot fault them.

Paul and Natasha work very hard for me and I couldn't ask for a better company to work with.

Richard

Thanks for the good word, Richard, there's a cheque in the post....

Hi,

We can help; we are a sourcing firm - head office in West London (near Heathrow) and 2 other offices - in Hong Kong & mainland China. We also act as a 3rd party manufacturer if you need 'made-to'design' products.

One of the reasons we exist is directly linked to your experience: bad customer service and unreliability - in the UK we are used to professional standards of service & quality. (even our offices in China are led by Brits to ensure everyone is on the same page). As a Brit firm - we offer UK standard T&C's i.e. defined product approval process, no upfront payment, 30/60 days payment (invoiced after delivery).

I can sum up what we offer: "all the advantages of purchasing/manufacturing in China - with none of the headache or risk".

Not only can we manage your product needs - we can take care of all the QA/QC, China-side negotiations, pre-mid-post production visits to make sure your product is coming along as you wish, logistics & shipping, UK customs clearance, VAT & duty payments, and delivery to your door.

Buying from us is as easy as buying from any other UK supplier.

Feel free to pm - we can have a telephone chat to discuss your requirements, and I'll give you instant feedback. Won't cost you a penny!

All the best,
oz

I find the like of Alibaba and Globalsources to be much the same..... good and bad suppliers to be found but you have to do the footwork yourself. Some suppliers are only now coming back from the New Year right now so might not have had the asme response as you normally would have.
