Hello All,

Am starting an online business. I would like to re-sell soaps, bath salts, bath bombs etc.
However I can't seem to find what exact regulations are required.

Can anyone please answer the following questions:

1) What certification proof do I need from my whole seller in China
2) What due diligence is required on my behalf to sell bath products
3) What testing, if any do I need
4) What is (are) the best insurance(s) to consider
5) What regulations are there in place to sell in
a) UK
b) Europe

Sorry to ask so many questions, but I think a lot of people might be interested. I noted there are quite a few responses if you are making your own products (soaps) but not many if you buy them from abroad and want to re-sell them.

Some of the FDA advice is quite vague too and some refers you to the US regulations. Hence I'm looking specifically for UK guidance.

Thank you all in advance for your help and advise !

This isn't something I can answer unfortunately and it seems like only those with knowledge of the industry will be in a position to do so. However, I do wish you the best of luck with your new business :)

Hello,

Thank you for the link.

In the link they describe that you should have a "responsible person". However I could not find details on what qualification (if any) are required to be a responsible person, how you apply to be one (if needed) or what the responsibility & rules are.

Do you happen to have any details on that part too ?

Thank you

I think I managed to find the answer here: REGULATION (EC) No 1223/2009 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL
Section: Responsible Person

Am unable to provide the link, but you can look up the regulation and find the details in there.
