Snow Clearing

in denmark if it snow you have to clear the public pathway outside your property of snow otherwise you can face a fine (so i have been told by my danish step mother)

maybe we should have that here in the uk and not to let anyone sue and put it down to taking extra care when out.

I cleared my path and cleared the public path for the length of 10 properties out of my own good will. I actually enjoyed it because it was a good work.

it`s called life, and evading tax really, really gets my goat.

Chill dude!

Even if someone does make an unofficial few quid once a year by clearing snow - why would you care?? It's not like they can keep it up for more than a week!

Lets worry about the massive legal tax loopholes first, and once they're all sorted, maybe there will be time left to confiscate this guys shovel.

once again the forum is called the UK BUSINESS FORUM, is it not. And I simply do not believe the OP cleared as much as he claims in the time he claims.

get so taken in by them don`t you?

Read the thread! I said ages ago it was doubtful that the OP cleared that much!

The fact I run a business does not preclude me from smiling and not caring when I hear of a bloke picking up a shovel and exchanging hard work for some extra cash. I don't expect or wish him to declare it, for a weeks work it's just not worth it.

Good luck to anyone that has the motivation to go for it. It has nothing to do with business and everything to do with effort = rewards.

Oh wow! It's a Business Forum! For people with a little bit of enterprise? Who like others with a bit of get up and go? And don't get their pretties in a twist about someone who may or may not pay tax on a days work?

Thanks ever so for letting us all know.
Love to the goat.

I can't count the amount of times getting a bucket and a sponge and going out washing cars has been suggested on this forum - and someone went out and basically did it (Not the same, but the idea is pretty similar). Quite shocked so many people are shooting it down!

I read through the whole thread to find out if the OP did it, and how well it went. I don't question whether it's true or not. I feel quite inspired by the get up and do something attitude actually, and I'm really glad it went well!

Nice one :p

Also, I saw a group of people in a rented truck full of grit going around the retail park clearing the paths from the shops to the car park. I assume they were working through the night doing various places. No idea how they organised it but it looked like they were just a group of friends going about doing it!
