Shipping to the USA

Does anyone have experience of shipping large orders to the USA? One we are working on weighs approx 870kg and some freight companies are turning us down flat!

Any insights would be appreciated.

Seems silly really. What about groupage? This where your product is put in the same container as other peoples? I have a shipment coming from China and this is what they are doing with me as it is only 1800kg.

Hi folks

We managed to get a price late yesterday for £850. The package has to be a single pallet rather than separated into several.

Does that price sound good?

We have suggested to the client they may like to import it rather than us export, which may save them a bit, especially if they have an import broker.

Not sure if that is good really. Although my shipment is more than double your weight and coming from China it is costing me around £800.

Suppose there are a lot of other things to consider with different countries, exchange rates etc. Maybe somebody who has done America before will let you know soon enough.

It doesnt sound a good price to me though to be honest.
