I am giving a talk (6pm on 29th May) on little known tricks of company law that empower minority and 50% shareholders beyond what they think is the limit to their powers. Knowledge can help resolve disputes and conflict that may otherwise seem irreconcilable.

Just to clarify the first item on the list of subject matters I will talk about, it is how a 50% shareholder can pass a l Resolution against the wishes of the other 50% that cannot be overturned against the wishes of the proposer and how minority shareholders can pass a Resolution against the wishes of the majority that will, for a short while, empower the minority to carry out tasks of benefit to him that cannot be reversed against his wishes.

The relevance to dispute resolution is that this increase in effective power can help encourage all sides to reach resolution.
