I don't know how people can just stroll in and comfortably request partners. If I was to get anyone seriously involved in my Business I'd have to know them inside out and at least be friends with them on a Business level.

Anyway welcome and good luck with everything.

Scott! You surprise me. I know you're quite 'with it' so I thought that you'd surely realise that if you're in MLM (multi level marketing) or business disguised thereas, you can recruit anyone! Friends, strangers, grandmother, person in the street, person(s) on forums.

They are all candidates for the great opportunity that awaits them!!

Hi Paul.

People from all walks of business join in and participate in this bustling, infromative forum. Most follow what moral business props would usually do and that's introduce themselves and sort of 'lay low' for a while as they gain comfort with the forum.

The network marketing opportunist though, employs a different tack. Sure, we all respect their enthusiasm of the product, but the promotion of same seems to be done so brashly and 'in your face.' To make a first post proffering all the merits of XXX and how it will help us realise our wildest dreams and give us a residual income for life, and as recently quoted, enable a person to 'retire at 25' and give us the glinting white teeth, the Merc, the Florida hioliday at Disneyland etc, etc etc, makes me go all gooey!

I know I can't recruit all my friends and neighbours, but many can. It's a case of each to their own. The primary difference is that we 'openly offer' our products/service. MLMers though, to me, seem deceitful in that they NEVER announce what the product is. It's always a 'unique/great opportunity' but you can never find out what it is until you either register your name and details or 'invite' someone to call you. What's the big deal??
Cheers, Nigel

Hi Nigel,

I know what you mean, I think its the in ur face that does it for me! We all work hard, we all have started ventures to make a better life or easier life or both...and all this white teeth, big smile, best opporunity ever:) does my head head in!

As far as recruiting my friends, they are like minded...and as such would laugh me out of the pub...!

Hi my name is Carl and I'm looking for 3 partners........!

For an ascent of a quite possibly dangerous mountain is some remote part of the world with no backup medical facilities. Anyone wanna come?

Sorry, but I do my business the same way I do my climbing - with a just little bit of information. Doesn't have to be much and if its not there then someones taking the micky.

good luck! you'll need it. Unless you're patenting a magic tree that grows money to fund the web development and advertising you will need to even come close to yell.com or friends reunited.

have you considered privacy laws relating to putting personal information on the interweb. databases such as these have to be opt in rather than opt out otherwise i think you will be breaking some kind of uk law (correct me if i'm wrong!)
