I have problems wit seo. I'm using asp.net and registered my website with google. It can see it now but the page rank is 0!!!!!!!!!! and basically website gets only a few hits a day. have you got any quick tips to improve it and get more hits?

Your page rank will improve as you get more inbound links, so get as many people to link to your site as you can, especially people with high ranking sites themselves. I can't help you with the SEO, but there are plenty of people here who can. Best of luck to you!

Its takes time and TechFox is right the more inbound links you get the better.

You can also do reciprocal and 3 way linking but do this cautiously. I mean link to the relevant sites only but the major part should consist of One way linking. Do some Blogging also.

Also if you have only just submitted it to Google you won't get any PR just for that. Any PR you are going to get will be in the next update, which is usually every 3 months.

A couple of simple things you need to do is ensure you make use of the Description metatag as well as your Title tag. Also, with your Title tag, if you want to include your company name in it, then relegate it to the end of the Title not the start as more importance is given to words at the start of the tag then the end.

As has already been said, there is a lot more you can do most of which takes more time, but I hope that helps.

Be patient. Allow 6-12 months for google to really get the hang of your site. In the mean time use PPC to get people onto the site.

BTW, it's not hits you need it's conversions. No point in getting 100 people a day visiting if nobody buys anthing. So rather than worry about page rank, concentrate on your content and get the punters in via PPC.

Some good points already made and personally, I wouldn't lose any sleep over your pagerank. We've had online shops first on Google with a PR 3 ahead of much higher PR scored websites, pagerank is a measure in vanity

I have spent time on and off over the last 9 months working through a lot of the information available on this site, making changes here and there, adding this, moving that. No one change has been radical, but over time the sum result now has us on the first page of google for a lot of our key phrases.

It's slow work, but ultimately worthwhile.

Our page rank interestingly has not changed from 3, a marker though that I tend to ignore.
