hi dose any one know much about SEO in here ? If not i can post for you guys , becouse seo can get you right in top 10 in google ranks .
 
May be funny to those 'in the know' but, what is SEO? Who doesn't want to be in Google's top 10? Reply to PM if you like. cheers

SEO is "Search Engine Optimization" - or the art of making your webite appear as high as possible in search engines for appropriate keywords / searches.

Fastfences - we've all had to learn from somewhere and this is the place to ask. I recently bought "SEO for Dummies" to find out about it. It's fascinating but complicated.

Don't take this the wrong way but the first thing I am going to check when I am looking at the site of someone who does SEO is look at their page rank. Yours is zero. You need to work on getting this up to show clients you practice what you preach.

You site not been up for long though has it Richard? Just checking through my page rank tools the next time Google updates you should move up somewhere between 1 and 4.

Mike, not necessarily so because there are just as many keywords.

You tend to find that many people pick their keywords based on what they think people are searching for, not necessarily what they are searching for.

Key, especially when starting off, is to pick a keyword where competition is low (or first page more achievable in short term), but searches are considerably higher. When starting its better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in an ocean!

Doing some recent analysis for a client I found the competition was just as strong for a keyword (related to their products) with 1,000 searches performed a month than a keyword with 500,000 searches performed per month. Obviously when analysed out its a bit of a no-brainer as to which keywords it would be best to target for - but it is surprising how many people would take a 'guess' without researching.

The English needs some work as well, not least to optimise for the right text. Also try to move into CSS-p. All that table markup (and spacer.gif references) do not help SEO.

No, SEO is just site optimization, not rank climbing :P A lot of businesses don't bother and just go straight to AdWords. Basically, just make sure your website is easily navigable, ie;

-Don't use JS for links
-Provide descriptive ALT tags for image links
-Make use of link text, for example (imagianing bold text is a link);
"To read about roofing click here" (would be daft)
"Click here for our article on roofing" (would be better)
(basically, a lot of description without going over the top)
-W3C compliance is nice, but not essential. Just make sure there are no open tags.
-Make good use of the title, keywords, and description meta tags (yes, google does use them)
-Use keywords in page text, but don't go over the top (or you'll scare visitors away)
-If your website is not just a simple structure, use a sitemap that's linked from every page!

Theres more, but this should help you a bit (I've forgotten who asked now, but whoever you are ;)).
