Hi everyone,

Occasionally members of this forum try to sell their products and services directly in the UK Business forums, for example by starting a thread and then posting a 'special offer' in it.

I was wondering how people feel about this type of selling. Do you think it is bad netiquette? or perhaps you do not mind it if its relevant to your needs? Also, how does it make you feel about the business trying to sell?

JA

A business forum - that really opposes self promotion - ironic really - when we are all in business - but rules are rules!

Ironic? I think you should re-read your own post. You infer you would like free self promotion from a business forum. Now that's ironic!

The forum does not oppose self promotion if you are willing to pay the (teenie weeny) fee.

Of course if you don't think the fee is worth it, you are inferring that your (then permissible) self promotion on the forum would not be effective enough to give you a return on the fee , there is not point moaning about not being able to do it for free.

Anyway, you made me smile today!

If the special offer is in the Marketplace then there is no problem. Anywhere else and the thread will get reported and deleted.

It's all quite clearly stated in the rules you agreed to when you joined the forum.
