Selling a "gold" phone number

Gavin Harris

Hi there,

I have a fantastic phone number that I no longer have a requirement for.

It's 03333 444433

Is there anywhere that's a good place to list a phone number to sell it? I've not seen any "auction" sites for good phone numbers, or anywhere you can list a phone number, or a broker to sell it to.

Any suggestions? Or do these "gold" numbers not really sell very often??

Thanks

That's a TSL number - probably Gradwell or AQL - it's portable to most of the better VoIP companies or to BT so it should be saleable.

I love these 0333 numbers, especially as customers can call you and its part of their inclusive minutes from mobiles.

Great control panels too so you can just log on and re direct to any number.

Give you £50 for it

I guess the other question is, is it too early to be selling an 03 number? Are they "established" enough to have any real value?

I think that in time they will become hugely popular.
Some of the "Gold" numbers are already selling for a couple of hundred pounds but I guess its like anything else - get in at the ground floor and hopefully reap the benefit later on.
At the moment people are not used to seeing them around. When people realise that the 0333 numbers are included in their mobile minutes as the cost of a normal call I am sure that the use will increase. Business users will also see the benefit as they are cheaper to run than 0800 or 0845 numbers.

You dont seem to see much in the way of marketing for these numbers at the moment though!
Normally its companies like Windsor Telecom and the like that send out direct mail.

    David.
