Selling a document for download?

Hello,

What's the best way for me to sell a document, that the buyer can then download?

I'm happy to do a simple website with 123-reg, or similar, but not too sure how to add a document, that someone can purchase, and either download straightaway, or have e-mailed to them straightaway?

Any advice appreciated.

The document must be so important? Im wondering what could that be ? though you need an experienced coder to work on that.

I did a website a few years ago for a client who was selling quiz papers with the answers.

I'd be very careful about trying to build your own solution or have one built. Digital sales are far more prone to fraud, as there is never a need for a physical address to have goods shipped to. There are dedicated payment collectors that specialise in digital goods (software and eBook downloads, etc.). You're far better using one of these than going on you own, even though they do charge a lot more than basic payment collectors.

I'd recommend Fastspring, a US company.

You should look into a shopping cart, Avactis Shopping Cart supports digital products, this mechanism lets you sell electronic products such as software, images, music recordings, videos, and so on. When the customer orders the product, he or she is granted access to download files. The buyer receives a confirmation by e-mail containing the links to file downloads. This confirmation is sent only after the order payment status is changed to Fully Paid.
