Stick to what you know, shooting off in all directions doesn't work. You will have some core skill/experience you can create a business out of.

FWIW we manufacture epoxy floor coatings and are reassuringly expensive (prices have doubled this year incidentally too which hasn't put a dent in demand), it takes many years to build up a reputation to be routinely specified. There is zilch chance of getting anything done inside a month in high value sales like that, attention and persistence needs to be addressed, otherwise any business will fail if it has 4 weeks to prove itself.

I recommend reading a book called The 1 Thing.

I know it sounds simplistic, but if you suffer from shiny object syndrome you really need to get a grip on it.

I work online, and I used to get shiny object syndrome a lot.

The secret is, choose 1 thing and do it well.

I think it might get worse if you start reading books

This might be completely off the wall but how about contacting the highways department of the council to see if you can contract to wash (and cut vegetation back from) road signs. Where I live many are obscured by bushes and dirt.

I think the trouble there would be the huge emphasis on health and safety. A mate of mine is a manager for the local highways department handling employee safety. Cutting a hedge can mean cones and signs, traffic lights and the obligatory week log H&S course in how to fill a bin!

There’s a bloke around here got a contract to clean road signs. Drives around in his van with the pressure washer lance strapped to the door. Never even gets out the van.

Thanks for the input everyone, perhaps my OP wasn't written very well. I'm not looking for the "quick buck" and I know establishing a business takes a very long time, my aim is to find something I can do alongside the flooring business that brings in consistent cash flow until the flooring is established. I'm working something now that'll hopefully fill that void, watch this space :)

Fill shelves in the local supermarket. Get a job in a bar. Warehouse picking. Loads of side jobs you can do.
