I’ve noticed most Self Assessment stress comes from:
– paperwork being spread everywhere
– uncertainty over what counts as an expense
– misunderstanding HMRC letters
– missing or almost missing deadlines

The tax itself usually isn’t the problem — it’s the admin.

If anyone wants it, I made a simple checklist to help sanity-check things before submitting. Happy to share.

Fair question.

I didn’t paste everything because it’s quite long and checklist-style, and the formatting in here tends to turn that into a wall of text. I put it into a short PDF so people can save it and use it when they’re actually doing their return, rather than trying to scroll back through a thread later.

Happy to answer specific questions here though.
