How are you currently marketing your services?

The whole M25 area is pretty big. I’d have thought most business will tend to use someone local.

'Specializes in various services'

Central London and within the M25'

That tells me you've lost your nerve on target marketing. Far better than many, but still too broad to be a true target.

Thank in term if exactly who your ideal customer will be, and why they will want your services (the benefit/ outcome, not the product)

Just looked at your website. It seems you are just a lead generator. You don’t do any of the work, put quotes together, quality control or anything else. You sub-contract everything. Which means local businesses won’t generally want to work with you. It doesn’t help that the website is pretty bad, you don’t have a real office and only a mobile number.

I think you will struggle unless you rethink the whole business model.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. We have a website that is currently not generating any leads unfortunately and we have done flyers which we will start distributing next week.

If it is project-related work we should be able to address them within the M25 (preferably North London but subject to the scale of the project).

For compliance checks, preferably central London as we have engineers ready to address these works in there.

Thank you

Park one of your sign written vans up in a chosen area for a few days and nights. Rinse repeat.
Hi Mark and thank you for your reply,

We are just at the beginning and we have not acquired any vans yet.
Some of the works we offer do not require vans as foot-mobile engineers can go to different properties and do compliance checks (weekly fire alarm checks, emergency lighting checks, and other similar services)

Once we will have vans we will try this method as well.

Thank you Mark for your reply,

Our target customers would be commercial managing agents who have a portfolio of properties for which they need regular compliance checks.

Clients like, JAR, METRUS, KNIGHT FRANK, Rendall & Rittner, etc. Note that these are examples of big clients who may not take our services as a startup but, there may be smaller managing agents that could benefit from our great services for a better price compared with established contractors.

Benefit/Outcome: we have access to engineers with more than 15 years of experience in compliance checks, engineers that provided these kinds of services working for a big and established Facility Management and Building Services company within London.

These engineers are used to working for big clients like Knight Frank, METRUS, and others and, they know what is required within the industry providing quality reporting in line with British Standards.

We will be able to provide a better price for the same or better quality of reporting.

We have also implemented a client login access within our website where potential clients can access their reports anytime 24/7, 365 days per year.

They won't need to chase an admin to receive their Fire Alarm or Emergency Lighting Certificate. This will save everyone's time.

Kind Regards,
Dorin

Hi Fisicx,

Thank you for checking the website.
We do subcontract only to well-known engineers (ex-colleagues of mine) therefore, I know the level of their work quality.

There will be a quality control in place as these contractors will work under our insurance however, we cannot take them fully on board at this moment.
If we manage to sign a few maintenance contracts the situation may change and they will probably join us full-time.

Could you please advise what you mean by the website being pretty-bad? We are working on it but any suggestion is welcomed.

We cannot afford yet to pay rent for an office. We can get a fixed phone line and redirect the calls but not sure if this will be of great help.

Kind Regards,
Dorin

Website reviews are only permitted for business members. But the site needs to match your marketing plan (which I asked for in my first post). Right now it’s all over the place with no real focus. And as already suggested you have spread yourself too thin without properly targeting your clients.

If the local B&B needs someone they will use a recommendation or a local search. They may even find one of your contractors. What they won’t do is ever see your website and even if they did are unlikely to pick up the phone.

Start local. Target local businesses and dominate the local searches. Be seen on the street. A generic lead generating website isn’t going to work without a lot of investment.
